Like Little Children

Preacher:
Passage: Mark 10:13-16

This morning we continue in our series on the Gospel of Mark, walking with our Lord as he is on his way to Jerusalem. On that path he is surrounded by parents bringing their little ones to be blessed by him. It wasn’t the first time Jesus interacted with little children, as he has shown his love for them prior to this incident. Earlier the disciples had been told by Jesus, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me (Mark 8:37).” Apparently, the disciples had short memories because in our passage today, they have a fit that Jesus would take time to bless the children being brought to him. They were barriers to Jesus instead of bridges to him. Which are you—a barrier or a bridge?
